EVENT 38 - Frankston Waterfront Festival
Mermaidia Braids enchanted the Frankston Waterfront Festival, spanning from Saturday to Sunday in the suburb of township of Frankston consisting of over 141,000 residences. A scorching Saturday, from 12 pm to 10 pm, witnessed the creation of 78 Braids/Ponytails. Sunday, under temperatures in the low to mid 40s, saw 22 Braids/Ponytails, this low number was due to the heat and no wind of the day, less people out and about as it was just too hot for families. Event was supposed to finish at 8pm on Sunday but due to the weather Frankston Council closed the event at 6pm.
Stories that need to be told: So, we had the funniest encounter with a human sized seagull, so blooming funny as I think it scared our poor Sianna, whom went running behind the gazebo when the seagulls came in to see all our clients. Lol. She ran away so fast that all the staff almost fell to the ground laughing so hard, even confusing the seagull of her whereabouts also.
Michelle got to see again a brilliant young lady that we had the honour of braiding her hair last year at the same Frankston Waterfront Festival. The significance of her was that we printed her picture on our gazebo. During our busy time we just saw this family wanting to take a lot of pictures in front of our gazebo, after investigating the situation we realised that we had to get another photo with her in front of last years photo. Lol.
On the Saturday Michael got to meet a beautiful young lady that wanted to show him her face painted face. As she got it painted in a pink flamingo to match Michael’s shirt. She wanted to match him, which just made his day.
The Friday night spectacle of fireworks over the water added a magical touch to the festival's kick-off. Michael, Michelle, and Jordan, accompanied by the invaluable assistance of our Lee & Sianna, revelled in this sunny, joy-filled weekend. The Frankston Waterfront Festival wasn't just an event; it was a magical blend of braids, laughter, and heartwarming connections.
