Goulburn Show – Sunshine, Smiles & Something a Little Different! ☀️🎡

This past weekend we had the pleasure of attending the Goulburn Show – our first for the year where the action wrapped up before dark! With no evening sessions and a daytime-only format, it was definitely a different vibe for us at Mermaidia Braids… but still full of fun, friendly faces, and that small-town country charm we love.

Saturday ran from 9am to 5pm, and the weather brought the heat! With 33°C and a light breeze, it was a toasty day for Michael and Michelle as they welcomed visitors to our colourful stall. The day was on the quiet side, with 15 braids and 5 ponytails completed – a little slower than usual, but still plenty of time to chat with families, explore the grounds, and enjoy the relaxed pace.

Sunday followed with more beautiful warm weather, about 30°C, and just enough wind to keep things pleasant. The crowd was again on the quieter side, and we finished up with 16 braids and no ponytails. Despite the slow pace, we made the most of every moment – soaking in the sunshine, sharing smiles, and adding a pop of colour to everyone’s day.

It was also a unique change for us to be packing up before the sun set, rather than working into the night under fairy lights and fireworks. While we missed that evening festival buzz, the Goulburn Show had its own charm – calm, family-friendly, and full of friendly locals who made us feel right at home.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our stall over the weekend – we may not have had the biggest numbers, but we had some of the biggest smiles, and that always makes it worth it.
