Royal Canberra Show – Sunshine, Sparkles & Sightseeing in the Capital! 🇦🇺✨
What a weekend! The Royal Canberra Show once again delivered an unforgettable experience – and it’s no secret that this event is one of our all-time favourites. From the warm welcomes to the perfect weather and incredible organisers, we would honestly come back just for them! (No joke – they’re fabulous! 😂)
The show ran over three jam-packed days, and here’s how it all unfolded:
Friday kicked off from 8:30am to 10pm, with the dream team of Jordan, Michael, and Michelle working their magic in beautiful weather that hovered between 26–28°C. We had so much fun meeting families, creating colourful styles, and just soaking up the buzzing atmosphere.
Saturday brought more of the same magic – a full day from 8:30am to 10pm with absolutely perfect weather. Sunny, warm (around 30°C), and not a breath of wind – it couldn’t have been better. The showgrounds were packed, the vibes were high, and our braiding hands stayed busy all day long.
Sunday wrapped up the event from 8:30am to 6pm, with another dose of perfection – 25–26°C, sunshine, and again, no wind. It really felt like Canberra turned on its very best for the weekend.
One of the absolute highlights was getting to do the signature braid for our legendary Showie friend, Streeter. He’s become a bit of a tradition for us – always turning up for his festival braid before heading off on his adventures around the show. We love that!
Once the final braid was done and our stall packed down, we decided to make the most of our time in the capital with a bit of sightseeing around Canberra. First stop: Parliament House, which was fascinating! Did you know it has over 2,700 clocks inside? Yep – we were just as surprised! 😂🕰️
Next, we headed to a local lookout to take in the stunning views. A short hike around the area gave us a whole new appreciation for Canberra – it’s a brilliant and interesting place with so much to see and learn.
Huge thanks to the Royal Canberra Show organisers for always making this such a joyful and smooth event to attend. We can’t wait to come back – same spot, same smiles, same sparkles next year! 💖
