Mermaidia Braids Returns to the Yarrawonga Show for Year Two

We were thrilled to bring Mermaidia Braids back to the Yarrawonga Show for the second year in a row! The excitement was real as we rolled in with our trusty trailer, ready for two days of braiding fun. The show didn’t disappoint, and we were once again reminded why Yarrawonga holds such a special place in our hearts.

Friday Evening: Light Rain, and moderate Winds, and Epic Fireworks

Friday kicked off from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm, but the weather had other plans for us. With light rain and moderate winds, we expected a quiet evening, and although we only completed 9 festival braids (and surprisingly 0 extension ponytails), we still had some fun. Usually, our ponytails are a crowd favourite, but Friday seemed to be all about the braids.

The weather didn’t stop the fireworks, though. They were absolutely epic! Despite the rain, the skies lit up, and the atmosphere was electric.

Saturday: Sunshine and Smiles

Saturday brought us perfect show weather. With a sunny day and moderate wind, we were set up and ready to go from 9 am to 5 pm. The turnout was fantastic, and the sunshine seemed to bring everyone out in high spirits. We got busy quickly and completed 23 festival braids and, to our delight, 23 extension ponytails – our signature combo for the day!

It was wonderful to meet so many incredible families, and the cool teenagers who came by for their festival looks kept us on our toes. We love seeing how creative and adventurous everyone is with their braiding choices!

Overall, it was a fantastic weekend at the Yarrawonga Show. Whether it’s the thrill of braiding or watching fireworks light up the sky, this event is one we’ll never miss. We can’t wait to see what next year brings!
