Albury Show 2024: Sunshine, Sparkles, and Special Moments
Returning to the Albury Show for the third consecutive year with Mermaidia Braids was nothing short of spectacular! This year’s event, spread across three days, was filled with the familiar buzz of festival energy, beautiful faces (both familiar and new), and some absolutely unforgettable fireworks displays.
Friday – Sparkling Start & Firework Finale
Our weekend began under gorgeous, sunlit skies from 3 pm to 9 pm. Our team created 16 festival braids and 5 dazzling extension ponytails, each braid a unique masterpiece. By sunset, the skies exploded with vibrant fireworks, setting the stage for an incredible night. The crowd’s enthusiasm fueled our own, making every braid sparkle just a bit brighter.
Saturday – Braiding Frenzy and Fireworks Take Two
With Jordan, Michelle, and Michael at the helm, Saturday was a whirlwind of activity from 9 am to 9 pm. This was our busiest day, with 59 festival braids and 19 extension ponytails completed! It was amazing seeing so many returning customers from previous years, and even a few familiar faces from the Royal Canberra Show. One of our favourite little clients, Poppy, was back with her bright smile, ready to celebrate her upcoming fifth birthday in style – happy early birthday, Poppy! We adore seeing her every year and can’t wait to celebrate many more birthdays with her.
A personal highlight was reconnecting with one of Michelle’s childhood friends, who brought her teenagers for a special braiding session. Amidst the laughs and memories, we shared tales of youthful escapades and made new memories with her kids. By evening, the sky was once again alight with an incredible firework display – a perfect end to a busy, joy-filled day.
Sunday – Light Showers and Heartfelt Goodbyes
Sunday wrapped up the show with a more laid-back vibe, running from 9 am to 3 pm. Light showers peppered the day, giving the festival a cozy, relaxed feel. We completed 13 festival braids and 5 extension ponytails, taking our time to chat with clients and enjoy those quieter moments. The day ended with some moderate winds just as we were packing up, adding a touch of adventure to the close of the weekend.
As we said goodbye to Albury and its wonderful community, we left with warm hearts, countless braiding memories, and the excitement of returning next year. Thank you, Albury Show, for another unforgettable weekend – here’s to more sunshine, sparkles, and celebrations in the years to come!
