EVENT 6 - Geelong’s Festival of Sails

Mermaidia Braids worked their magical touch at Geelong's Festival of Sails, spanning from Thursday to Saturday over the Australia Day Weekend in the vibrant town of over over 250,000. Thursday and Friday, beneath scorching sunshine, witnessed the completion of over 60 Braids/Ponytails, set against the picturesque backdrop of the Ferris Wheel on Eastern Beach.

Australia Day, a Thursday public holiday, unfolded into a monumental day, extending our braiding hours into the dark. Parents' phones became makeshift torches, illuminating our beachside workspace.

Friday, a quieter day, allowed us to enjoy beach volleyball right in front of our site. Saturday, another serene day, gifted Jordan the freedom to immerse herself in the beach, collecting shells, searching for fish, and basking in the sunshine. Despite the logistical challenge of daily setup and pack-down, the Festival of Sails in Geelong was an extraordinary experience embraced by Michael, Michelle, and Jordan.
